Ms. Lerner retired from a teaching career that extended from 1950-1989. Ms. Lerner correlated art with other subjects with her students throughout this period of teaching. Since her retirement, she has enjoyed reviving her hobby of painting.
While attending grade school, it was her art teacher who was instrumental in awakening this desire early during the formative years.
Ms. Lerner has shown her work in two exhibitions featuring oils and water colors. She enjoys doing architectural drawings, designing note cards and creating mini-scenes of garden landscaping and flowers. She also makes gift inserts or cards, calendars, and has designed wedding scenes of churches on invitations.
Painting, dried flowers and note cards all started as a hobby to enjoy during retirement. She wanted to share her experiences of travel and memories in a visual way with her family and friends. All these good times keep her active and young at heart and may be encouragement for someone else along the way.
