Frank Tarpley grew up in Blue Ridge,GA, in the North Georgia mountains. After graduating from high school and spending two years in the U. S. Navy, he attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After graduating from college, he entered the commercial art field where he worked for thirty-seven years.
Frank enjoys working in three mediums--oils, watercolors and pastels--doing landscapes, flowers and still-life paintings. His inspiration comes from the beauty displayed in God's creation of a beautiful sunset, flower or landscape.
He also teaches watercolor workshops in Thomaston and have had several one-man shows at Callaway Gardens and in Thomaston.
Frank works in my home studio in Thomaston, GA. He and his wife, Barbara, have three married children and seven grandchildren. They are members of the First Baptist Church in Thomaston where they are active in the music and counseling ministries.
